September Outing
On Tuesday 14 September Hilary Allen’s daughter, Jennifer Laws, will take us on a tour of the 43rd Squadron air base just outside Port Alfred where she is a helicopter instructor and she will tell us about its history.

This course is being run by Francis Williamson who gave us such an interesting course on Ethics last year. This 4 week course will start on Tuesday 3rd August 10-11 am. The venue is the ISER Annex
COMPUTER SKILLS

Seventeen members put their names down for the Computer course. We have now arranged for Andrew from Imaginet to take 7 members at a time from 5-6pm on a Monday and Thursday for a Beginners course and then, later he will run an Intermediate course. If you are still interested in doing the course please join us on Thursday 12th August at 5pm at the Imaginet Office, 16a Henry Street, where Andrew will be giving an Introductory Presentation giving the details of the courses he will be running.

Our outing for August will take place on Wednesday 18th at 10.00 am in the Albany Museum where palaeontologist, Dr Billy de Klerk, will give us a fascinating insight into one hundred and ten million years of mammal ancestry in the Karroo basin.

Marijke Lewis is offering a three week course on Art History. This will take place in the Rennie Lecture Theatre at the Museum from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday 25 August, Wednesday 1 September and Wednesday 8 September.
The topic for the course is ‘Following the path of Light through Art History’.
