February General Meeting

On Thursday 23 February 2012 our guest speaker is Mr Harry Owen who came to South Africa from England and has lived in Grahamstown for about 5 years.  Harry is a poet and has three published collections in print.  He was instrumental in starting the monthly Reddits Poetry evenings at 6 pm on the last Friday of each month at the Cafe DiVine in New Street where anyone who wants to can read or recite their own or other people’s poems. Meet at 10.00 am in the Mullins Room at St Andrew’s Prep.

‘The Upstart Experience’ – Mrs Shireen Badat

On Thursday 16 February 2012 Mrs Shireen Badat, wife of the Vice-Chancellor of Rhodes University will talk to us about “The Upstart experience: the realities of young people in Grahamstown East”.   Shireen will share some of her experiences working with young people in the area.  Meet at 10.00 am in the Mullins Room at St Andrew’s Prep.

Annual General Meeting – 9 February 2012

On 9 February 2012  at 10.00am in the Mullins Room, St Andrew’s Prep.  Malcolm Hacksley will give a brief talk on limericks illustrated with some interesting examples.  This will be followed by the Annual General Meeting. Subscriptions of R30 are due at this meeting.

The Arts Festival
